Introduction to No. 13, Xucuocheng, Quanzhou, China (Quanzhou Arts and Crafts)

I. Architectural Appearance and Effect

• Main Entrance: The main entrance features a cream-colored stone archway as its centerpiece, complemented by a plaque bearing the name “Quanzhou Arts and Crafts Cooperative.” The yellow main building contrasts sharply with the “Quanzhou Red” roof, preserving the substantial feel of traditional Suzhou-style architecture.

• Street and Alley Space: The interior features a courtyard layout. The yellow washed walls, vintage wooden windows, and traditional Southern Fujian granite walls and hexagonal red bricks complement each other, continuing the historical texture of the old factory while incorporating local Quanzhou architectural elements.

• Nighttime Atmosphere: Warm lighting strips along the building’s exterior outline its retro silhouette. The red tiled roof glows warmly under the lights, becoming a cultural landmark in the ancient city at night.

II. Spatial Function Revitalization

• Concentration of Intangible Cultural Heritage Workshops: The first floor houses master studios for Quanzhou lanterns, gold embroidery, and puppet making, allowing traditional crafts to be actively preserved on their original site.

• Integration of Exhibition and Experience: The interior features an arts and crafts museum and an academic exchange center, showcasing intangible cultural heritage works such as lacquerware and wood carvings, while also providing immersive craft experiences.

• Creation of Cultural Tourism Scenes: The original old trees and historical components of the factory area have been preserved, complemented by pocket parks and leisure spaces, transforming the old industrial heritage into a new landmark in the ancient city that integrates culture, experience, and consumption.
